R&D FLP Associate (External R&D)



In GSK Vaccines, within the Global Industrial Operations function, our employees manufacture, formulate, fill, pack, control, release and deliver over 900 million doses each year of different vaccines to 170 countries on 4 continents.
The Future Leaders Program is a two-year rotational program aimed at developing young talents with leadership potentials within our organization. Development comes through challenging job rotations supported by formal learning, mentoring and coaching. The program is tailored to enable you to develop your knowledge and experience while broadening your global business perspectives. During the program you will experience rotations in different R&D centers.
As a truly global organization, we offer the opportunity to gain international experience through one rotation abroad. Your landing position, at the end of the program, will be within your home country.

R&D FLP Associate (External R&D)


  • Understand the fundamentals related to working in the pharmaceutical field, GSK values, policies and behaviors and how to behave according to them
  • Participate to FLP events and rotations in Italy and other GSK sites
  • Support administrative issues of externally funded projects (eg: timesheets, scientific documents)
  • Actively contribute to ensuring submission and completeness documents requested by the Funders and Institutions (eg. Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions)
  • Actively support annual PhD/Postdoc events organization
  • Support on overall set up of the Global PhD and Postdoc program
  • Support the communication between project participants, GSK functions (eg: finance, legal, procurement, communication) and other stakeholders (eg. universities, external authorities, consultants)
  • Participate at External R&D processes optimization (eg: policies, templates)


  • PhD certification on Biology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Immunology, Chemistry or related field (mandatory).
  • At least 2 years of postdoctoral experience or equivalent
  • Proven scientific track record
  • Excellent knowledge of spoken and written English
  • 1 in peer reviewed scientific paper/publication as first name or corresponding author
  • Strategic thinking skills and achievement oriented
  • Proactive and flexible
  • Good communication and cross-cultural sensitivity
  • Ability to work within an international and complex environment
  • Willing to travel

Degrees of interest: PhD certification on Biology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Immunology, Chemistry or related field
